Sales and Marketing Associate

Part-time in Durham, North Carolina

Job Summary:

Piedmont Wholesale Flowers is seeking a year round, dynamic and creative Sales and Marketing Associate to lead and execute our marketing strategies and drive sales growth for the co-op. This part-time role is perfect for a friendly & detail-oriented extrovert who is passionate about local flowers, sustainability, and building meaningful relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with wholesale clients (e.g., florists, event planners, retailers).

  • Oversee the sales pipeline, including client inquiries, orders, and follow-ups.

  • Set and achieve sales goals by identifying new market opportunities.

  • Assist on market floor when needed.

2. Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns (social media, email newsletters, and print materials).

  • Create engaging content to highlight products, services, and PWF values

  • Maintain and update social media platforms, email and text correspondence from clients.

  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to refine sales strategies.

3. Promotion and Support

  • Promote workshops, open market days, and events to educate and attract more customers.

  • Collect direct feedback from clients.

  • Create and publish weekly PWF newsletter to include promotions, flower bar weekly inventory and other creative content.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in marketing, sales, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and email marketing tools.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Passion for local flowers, sustainability and cooperative values. Experience / knowledge in these fields is a plus.

  • Slight preference for those located in the Triangle region.

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Flexible schedule, approximately 15-30 hours per week with seasonal fluctuation.

  • Compensation based on experience (starting at $20/ hour).

  • Start date: ideally mid-late February, 2025.
